Volunteer
In general, given the global nature of the organization, much of the work
is done in multiple sites: by contacts around the world at their home
bases and TransCultural Exchange's staff at TransCultural Exchange's home
base in Boston. Thus, the right volunteer for the organization should be
self-disciplined and able to work outside of a typical office setting. It
is essential that volunteers also be detail oriented.
Typical tasks would include sending information to artists,
keeping track
of email correspondences, scanning and posting images to a virtual
bulletin board, preparing budgets, helping with mailings and
press
releases and locating funding sources.
Through this position, the volunteer would learn about the working
processes of a non-for-profit organization, global cultural exchange
programs and the creation and implementation of international
art projects
and exhibitions.
