Eric de Leon Zamuco is a mixed-media artist from the Philippines. Zamuco combines
objects
and photography in his assemblages and installations. He was a recipient of
the “Thirteen
Artists Award” by the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2003.
About his tile:
“Assimilation” means absorption into a cultural tradition. This
aluminum tile provides the recipient with a
cut-out circular collaboration space. The receiver is free to interact and
make an equally durable artwork in
this said space. Within this interaction, among the tiles, the site and the
viewer, the exchange and
absorption continue.
