Aomori Contemporary Art Centre, Aomori, Japan

Stuttgart, Germany
This program is inherent in the name ‘Akademie Schloss Solitude,’ as it combines the idea of an academy for scientific and artistic exchange with that of a retreat, which Schloss Solitude has always been.

K2, Izmir, Turkey
A non-profit organization with 20 artists studios, a documentation center and gallery that aims to create an open platform, especially geared towards young artists.

The Hill End Artist in Residence Program aims to provide an opportunity for creative development in all areas of the visual arts in the unique environment of Hill End.

Iaspis (International Artist Studio Program in Sweden), Stockholm, Sweden
Swedish Exchange program whose main purpose is to facilitate creative dialogues between visual artists in Sweden and the international contemporary art scene.  Iaspis encompasses an international studio program in Sweden, a support structure for  exhibitions and residences abroad for Swedish based artists, as well as a program of seminars, exhibitions and publications.

Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, Ireland
The Museum’s Artists’ Residency Programme emphasizes the working process rather than the finished product and enables artists to explore new ideas and ways of working in the context of the developing identity of the Museum and its various programmes.

Residency/Exhibition Possibilities Associated with Universities in Turkey
A presentation on the approximately twenty-five university art departments, which offer residency and exhibition possibilities in Turkey.
Presenter: Dr. Ilgim Veryeri-Alaca, Visiting Lecturer, Dept of Art and Art History, Modlin Center for the Arts, University of Richmond. Dr. Veryeri-Alaca’s presentation is sponsored by the Turkish Cultural Foundation.

University of KwaZulu-Natal, Scottsville, South Africa
The program provides studios for artists during the residency for which the residents are expected to interact with the students, culminating in an exhibition at the university.

Kanoria Centre for Arts, Mumbai, India
The Kanoria Centre for Arts residency program is for emerging artists, who work in the fields of painting, sculpture and printmaking. The residency includes studio facilities and a stipend (only to Indian nationals) as well as a foreign artist residency program for which the Centre provides studio facilities for a nominal rent, allowing artists to work at the Centre for periods of  three months or less.

The Burren College of Art, Co. Clare, Ireland
The purpose of the residency is to provide time, space and the environment for an uninterrupted period of creative work. It has proven to be particularly suited to emerging and established artists, as well as faculty on sabbatical wishing to investigate new areas of inquiry, explore new techniques or develop a body of work for exhibition, entrance or application for grants and positions. Resident artists can use College facilities, which include library, photo studios, sculpture workshop, and also engage with College activities and visiting artist lectures.

Debrecen International Colony of Artists, Debrecen, Hungary

The Art of Fire, Cuban American Cultural Exchange Program
The Art of Fire is an ongoing international cultural exchange project that has offered exhibitions, residencies, workshops and community outreach in Cuba, Canada and the United States.

Vrij Glas Foundation, Zaandam, Netherlands
Vrij Glas offers Artists-in-Residency and Researcher-in-Residency programs for artists, designers, architects and master students. Professionals from all fields are eligible to apply.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a publicly-funded independent organization of higher educational institutions in Germany. DAAD provides information as well as financial support to over 50,000 highly-qualified students and faculty per year for international research and study.

For almost 60 years, the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) has assisted the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the United States Department of State in administering the Fulbright Scholar Program, the U.S. government's flagship academic exchange effort and an important part of its public diplomacy.

U.S. State Department’s ART in Embassies Program
Established by the United States Department of State in 1964, the ART In Embassies Program is a global museum that exhibits original works of art by U.S. citizens in the public rooms of approximately 180 American diplomatic residences worldwide.

Trust for Mutual Understanding, New York
The Trust for Mutual Understanding is a private American grant-making organization dedicated to promoting improved communication, closer cooperation, and greater respect between the people of the United States, Russia, and Eastern and Central Europe by supporting cultural and environmental exchanges between the United States and those regions.

The Siemens Arts Program was established in 1987 with the goal of developing a cultural program specifically for Siemens AG.  From its beginning with in-house cultural activities, Siemens Arts Program evolved during the early 1990s into a diverse international program fostering contemporary art and culture. This talk will discuss the Program’s various activities and the ways in which the Program complements the charged fields between culture, business and science.

Transforming Farming Communities in Egypt
Addressing the soaring unemployment rate and the growing concern of agricultural refuse in Egypt, the artist Abou El Naga is reviving the ancient tradition of paper-making to bring new economic opportunities to unemployed youths as well as to capitalize on the growing market for handmade-paper products abroad.
