CODAworx: The Hub of the Commissioned Art Economy

CODAworx a global online platform to showcase design projects featuring commissioned art in interior, architectural and public spaces.

CODAworx is for everyone involved in the professional art and design world, from those who make art (artists from sculptors to painters to glass artists to experiential public artists to everything in between!) to those who commission art (art consultants, public art agents, developers, interior designers and architects) and industry resources (who supply, fabricate, install, engineer or ship the art to its final home). Anyone involved in a project can publish their project on CODAworx and highlight their collaborators to feature all those involved in the process from beginning to end.

This is a venue for art and design professionals to “Showcase, Hire, and Get Hired!” In addition to showcasing work that has already been completed, the extensive list of members is a resource for finding future collaborators. Artists can use CODAworx to hire a fabricator for a future project and art consultants use the project library and artwork search feature to find artists to hire. CODAworx also manages exclusive commission opportunities to help bring members new job opportunities.

Each year, the international CODAawards program is juried by highly acclaimed art and design professionals across the globe. Major partners for the annual CODAawards include Interior Design Magazine and the American Institute of Architects. Winners are featured in Interior Design’s autumn issue, and the AIA is sponsoring a 2017 CODAawards exhibit at the Octagon Museum in Washington D.C. This is a major awards program that celebrates design projects that demonstrate the most successful integration of commissioned art into an interior, architectural or public space.

Each month, CODAworx publishes a digital CODAmagazine to showcase incredible member projects that fit within specific themes, such as Light Art, the Human Form, Interactive Art and more.

With the Request for Proposal (RFP) Toolkit, CODAworx builds tools that make it easy to find and hire the best artists for future commissions. In addition to maintaining the largest online listing of international commission opportunities for artists, CODAworx also makes it possible for members to get exclusive RFQs and RFPs. In the past two years, CODAworx has directly managed and orchestrated five large commissions, ranging from $30,000 to $400,000, that were exclusive to members of CODAworx!

Artists can also use the CODAworx RFP Toolkit and directory listings to find and hire top industry resources for their projects—artists represented by studios like Derix or Franz Mayer; fabricators like Polich Tallix or Indianapolis Fabrication; and so many more across the U.S.A. and the globe!

It is free to register for CODAworx. Joining gets basic members a listing in the directory and the opportunity to post projects and receive newsletters and other updates. Additionally, CODAworx has Pro and Premium memberships with additional benefits and opportunities for more features and commission opportunities.
