Jules Rochielle, Founder, Team Lead and Project Manager, Social Design Collective LLC, Massachusetts www.julesrochielle.com

For Jules Rochielle's presentation at TransCultural Exchange’s International Conference on Opportunities in the Arts, entitled ‘Working Differently to Create Change,’ Jules discussed ways that artists can create collective change by working in non-traditional spaces and niches. Specifically, Jules spoke about NuLawLab (www.nulawlab.org), where Jules works as an embedded artist within an innovative law school. “My role there is to identify unmet legal needs in the community at large.” Jules also discussed Social Practices Art Network (SPAN – www.socialpracticesartnetwork.com), a media resource for individuals, organizations, community groups and institutions that are interested in new genre art forms and practices. It is meant to serve as a platform for a variety of socially-engaged art and design processes.
