Kennedy presented ‘Putting Picture Books on a National Stage,’ in which she discussed The Carle Museum’s mission to collect, preserve, and exhibit picture book art, as well as the growing interest museums here and abroad are taking in the art form and its educational applications.

The only full-scale museum of its kind in the US, The Carle collects, preserves, presents and celebrates picture books and picture book illustrations from around the world. In addition to underscoring the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of picture books and their art form, The Carle offers educational programs that provide a foundation for arts integration and literacy.1For more information about The Carle, see www.carlemuseum.org.
